Pistone's literary commitment is multifaceted and embraces social, philosophical, and psychological themes through a transversal approach to them that allows even the layman to easily approach the humanities without neglecting the personal and intimate analysis of everyday life. Her novels, rich in articulated plots, do not fail in this approach, never forgetting to explore the human soul and reality through the lens of knowledge and reflection.

An essentially historical and sociological approach characterizes the book dedicated to the multiple relationships between the Unitary State, the press and the degree of literacy of a population from 1860 until the twentieth century. Fundamental importance is attributed to the evolutionary process of the Italian language and its contextualization, which obligatorily passes through school education and thus not only oral but written information. The analytical research that Pistone carries out presents a considerable complexity, since one finds oneself taking into account the many linguistic and especially dialectal differences present in a territory in which the 'question of language' that the Supreme Poet had well explicated in his work of 'De vulgari eloquentia' was certainly not dormant. A marked but different homogeneity existed among the three linguistic strains present in our territory from north to south passing through the center. We know for a fact that it could not be unified by a thousand red-shirted adventurers commanded by a blond general along with others with grouse feathers on their hats commanded by officers who spoke French and further on by black-shirted squadrists charmed by a loud-voiced duce! Pistone's reading from a circular perspective can be of great help in better understanding the unification process of our country and the implications that make it relevant and intriguing today. The novel 'A Strange Death in Oppido Lucano,' again with fairly circumscribed historical references, presents itself with a remarkable narrative fluidity, pleasant reading and urges the reader's curiosity to know its ending. It could very well provide the script for a TV fiction, in fact it contains the basic ingredients! Happy reading.

The book 'That Reflection in the Darkness' lends itself to a dark and captivating reading, at times distressing in the introspective parts of the protagonist.

'Only God Does Not Accept Bribes’ reflects an in-depth analysis of corruption and its many facets. The various chapters offer a journey starting with the definition and ethical-moral understanding of corruption, and then explore the role of the Church and religious principles in the fight against this social scourge. The author also focuses on the role of money and its cultural, political and economic impact, examining the causes and protagonists of corruption in public administration. The discussion continues with an analysis of clientelism in the public context and its impact on justice and the administration of the commons. Finally, the ambiguity of human nature is explored, asking crucial questions about the concept of good and evil and the essence of humanity, emphasising corruption as a historical 'calamity' that has shaped the course of humanity.

Luigi Pistone makes a fundamental contribution to the community with his works. The themes of social and relational conflict management, the use of words to emphasise the importance of verbal communication. The empathic relationship with the interaction between the subjects, 'readers and writers'. Without much rhetoric, a literary masterpiece that I had the opportunity to read. Thank you for the gift it will provide us all. Precisely because there is a need for a change of perspective and a shift of focus from self to others, while at the same time trying to be flexible in allowing self-discipline.
